The social starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by the show Miracle on 34th Street.  WAAT will provide heavy h’orderves and desserts.  The Topeka Civic Theatre asks that guests staying for the show take their seats by 6:30 p.m.  You are welcome to attend the social, the play, or both.  There is no charge to join the social (other than the cash bar) but tickets for the play cost $34.00 per person.  You are welcome to invite guests including co-workers, significant others, children, or anyone else that you would like to accompany you to the event.

This is a tale that we want to believe in! By chance, Kris Kringle, an old man in a retirement home, gets a job working as Santa for Macy’s. Kris unleashes waves of good will with Macy’s customers and the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for. Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy’s vocational counselor, who plots to have Kris shanghaied to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing with amazing results.
