WAAT is kicking off its annual “Read to Me” book drive and fundraiser for the Highland Park Parent-Child Learning Center.

The PCLC serves infants and children up to 6 years old of teenage parents attending high school, as well as those in the community. The child care program is staffed by TDC Learning Centers, Inc. & Topeka Public Schools and includes child care, modeling of parenting skills, parent education, counseling, and helping teens access social services and resources.  WAAT has been participating in the “Read to Me” program for the TDC Learning Center at Highland Park since it was started by WAAT Past President, Hon. Teresa Watson, several years ago.

Now through March 15th, WAAT will be collecting cash donations for the Highland Park Parent-Child Learning Center through our Go Fund Me page.  We will also accept book donations at our February 21st and March 21st luncheon programs. For a list of books requested by Highland Park or a direct link to make a cash donation, please visit:

Thank you in advance for your support of this valuable program!
